Huawei opens HarmonyOS NEXT third phase developer beta program
Huawei has opened the gates of HarmonyOS NEXT developer beta for the third phase. While we expected the recruitment for mid-August, the company surprised its users by initiating the third phase of the software testing at the outset of this month.
The Chinese phone maker today officially announced HarmonyOS NEXT third phase developer beta program. The testing activity will be live from August 1 to August 7.
What’s new?
New HarmonyOS NEXT beta will bring a better experience than previous builds. Probably, participants will experience efficient coding, debugging, tuning, and testing tools by DevEco Studio and DevEco Testing. The company has also upgraded the AppGallery Connect listing and distribution services.
Users Slot:
As per the details, the company has opened the HarmonyOS NEXT new testing pool for 30000 users. Perhaps many developers and pioneer users who didn’t receive approval for the last two versions can try out for the third phase of beta activity.
Devices:
Regarding devices, Huawei kept the HarmonyOS NEXT developer beta recruitment confined to only three series. The official roadmap says that devices like the Pura 70 series, Pocket 2, and more will enter the new software beta stage this month.
But that’s not the case for now at least. HarmonyOS NEXT third phase developer beta is currently live for these devices:

Going with the official upgrade plan, we can still expect to see the new models in the beta list later this month. Till then, the above-listed device owners can register for the latest HarmonyOS NEXT beta activity and explore new changes in advance.
How to register:
Note: Devices upgraded to HarmonyOS NEXT beta version will receive new versions in batches, automatically. If you have not received it yet, please wait patiently.
Developers and pioneer users signing up for the first time should take a backup beforehand. A few apps could be incompatible with the latest build and might lose data after the upgrade. Hence take precautions before proceeding for enrolment.
To sign up, developers need to complete an identity authentication test at Huawei Developer Alliance. Confirm the confidentiality agreement, answer certain questions, as well as fill in the details. Once done, hit the submit tab on the page.

Timeline and Rollout:
The company will further review the submitted applications from August 1 to 16. The review process will take 3-7 working days to complete. Hereafter, Huawei will start pushing a confirmation SMS or email to participant for the new beta version push.
