Huawei Nova Flip has now appeared on Geekbench, which shows that the company is conducting pre-launch tests and preparations for its new device. The latest listing also solves the chipset mystery that has been in rumors for a long time.

According to the Geekbench 6 listing, the Huawei Nova Flip with model number PSD-AL00 achieved 1000 points on single-core and 2419 points on multi-core tests.

Being a mid-range folding handset, these points seem good enough. Yet the actual performance will be known after the device officially enters the consumer market.

The device model uses 12GB RAM and further coupled with Android 12 operating system. It runs on an octa-core processor with a 4+3+1 CPU architecture. Judging from the structure, the upcoming foldable likely equips the Kirin 8000 chip.

Inputs reveal that the chipset is clocked at 1.84 GHz base frequency. It contains four 1.84GHz small cores, three 2.19GHz medium cores, and one 2.40GHz large core.

Other than the Geekbench listing, a few Weibo tipsters shared an alleged mobile information page revealing Nova Flip runs on a Kirin 8000 chip. The same processor resides in the Nova 12 Pro with a 5G network and improved performance aspects.

Early leaks suggested that the Nova Flip foldable will adopt the Kirin 9010E chipset. But it seems Huawei will power the device with a slightly inferior yet efficient processor. Things will get more clear after the official release of the smartphone.

Two months back, the PSD-AL00 5G device visited the 3C Certification database. Later on, a tipster confirmed that the Nova Flip codenamed PSD would soon launch in the consumer market. The company has also officially announced the device and started warming it up ahead of its release.

Nova Flip is coming with a 50MP rear main camera and HarmonyOS 4.2 software system. The device also consists of some AI features to enhance the user experience. As per the leaked specs, it could pack a 4400mAh battery with 66W charging support.

The square cover screen on the back is another eye-catching feature. It is larger than the Pocket 2 foldable and will feature a fun “Call-Emoji” feature. What else the device will bring on the stage will get clear the next week. Stay tuned.
