Huawei Nova 9 users grabbing July 2024 EMUI security update
Huawei Nova 9 phone users are collecting the July 2024 security update with new improvements. Although the respective device owners have locked their eyes on the major EMUI 14.2 upgrade that is currently reaching the top flagship smartphones.
Nova 9 came out of the box with EMUI 12. The company later upgraded the device with EMUI 13 features and made it more intuitive to use. But now, global users expect another major upgrade, especially after the device grabbed HarmonyOS 4.2 in China.
While it’s unclear if Nova 9 will get a significant upgrade in the future, Huawei is bringing the July 2024 update for it. The latest firmware is rolling out with the EMUI version 13.0.0.315 and a downloadable package of 393 Megabytes.
The update doesn’t introduce any new features or improvements to the device. Although installing the firmware will kick out any hidden bug in the security system. It will also enhance the phone’s potential for malicious threats and exploits.
July 2024 security patch eliminates the latest vulnerabilities for Nova 9 handsets. It also patches voids that can lead to data leaks, freezing, or even system crashes.
For starters, the company has pushed off the new update in a phased rollout. Hence, the overall update distribution could be delayed reaching your smartphone. But you can slide into the Settings app, find the newest version, and download it manually.
Up to this point, the Huawei P50 Pro and Nova 11 series are the devices that have received the July 2024 security patch. A slowdown in the process could be due to EMUI 14.2 rollout.
Huawei will soon complete the major upgrade distribution for its top-end phones. But whether the company will expand this software to more of its devices is still a mystery to be resolved.
