Huawei Nova 7 series gets HarmonyOS 3.0.0.300 with new features

On July 20, 2023, Huawei is rolling out HarmonyOS 3.0.0.300 software update for Huawei Nova 7 series in China. This is the latest software addition to smartphones and these were launched three years ago in 2020.

According to the information, Huawei is sending this update for various Huawei Nova 7 series models including the following:

• Nova 7 5G（JEF-AN00)
• Nova 7 5G（JEF-AN20)
• Nova 7 5G（JEF-TN00)
• Nova 7 5G（JEF-TN20)
• Nova 7 Pro 5G（JER-AN10)
• Nova 7 Pro 5G（JER-AN20)
• Nova 7 Pro 5G（JER-TN10)
• Nova 7 Pro 5G（JER-TN20)

All of these Huawei Nova 7 series variants can download the latest HarmonyOS 3.0.0.300 including the latest optimizations and improvements.

Changelog:

• Service widgets: Widget combos can automatically expand or shrink as the widgets increase or decrease, and stacked widgets can automatically rotate and display as the scene changes
• Smart multi-window: Added the function of saving the split-screen state, saving the split-screen state to the home screen, and clicking the split-screen combination icon to open the dual-app split-screen mode with one click
• Calendar: Added class schedule subscription service, which can import the class schedule by taking photos or photo albums, supports custom editing of courses and course reminders, and class schedule service widgets can be added to the home screen.
• System: The document supports a one-step preview, without the need for a pop-up box to select the opening method; the call audio can be switched between the speaker, the receiver, and different Bluetooth devices in one step through the multi-device play control center

Optimizations

• Smart multi-window: Optimize the experience of using smart multi-window. When returning to the home screen, the floating window will automatically shrink to a small window to continue the task
• App Guard: Optimize the App Guard, improve security, provide a second confirmation pop-up window for application jumps, reduce the risk of misoperation, and optimize every step of the jump to be knowable and controllable
• System: Optimize Huawei’s printing interface, simplify and unify the printing entry; optimize system performance, slide operation, page switching, and application startup are silky and comfortable every step of the way, and dynamic effects can be interrupted.

Security:

• Integrates the June 2023 security patch to enhance system security.

Update notes:

• Please make sure that the phone does not have ROOT, you can upgrade to version 3.0.0.300 online after receiving the push.
• The version is pushed in batches. In order to meet the needs of the rapid upgrade, you can download the version through “Settings – System and Update – Software Update – Check for Update” to upgrade.
• This version upgrade will not clear user data, but it is still recommended that you back up all important data to your PC or cloud (please do not back up to the internal storage space of your phone) before upgrading, and confirm that the backup content is complete and valid.
• After the upgrade, the system will perform self-optimization and adaptation, which may cause the phone to sometimes experience heat generation, fast power consumption, freezing, or slow charging. It will return to normal after 2-3 days of normal use. It is recommended to charge the phone with the screen off for more than 2 hours after the upgrade is complete (it is best to charge it overnight with the screen off), and then restart the phone to ensure that the mobile phone application is quickly adapted.
• After the update is complete, the system will restart, please wait patiently for about five minutes.
