Huawei Nova 5, 5i Pro and 5z getting December 2020 security update
After months of EMUI 11 testing, Huawei is moving towards enrolling the older flagships for EMUI 11 beta program. The Nova 5, 5i Pro, and 5Z smartphones are eligible for EMUI 11, but the company did not officially confirm yet. Currently, these devices running on EMUI 10.1, and users are still waiting for their turn to test the features of the latest OS skin.
Meanwhile, Huawei has started releasing the new software update for Huawei Nova 5, 5i Pro, and 5z smartphone users, which installs the security patch released in December 2020 that improves system security and overall device performance.
What’s new in this update:
Security: Integrates Android security patches released in December 2020 for improved system security.
December 2020 Security Patch Details: December 2020 security update install security fixes for different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei phones including 1 critical and 11 high levels of CVEs.
New Version:
- Huawei Nova 5, 5i Pro, and 5z users receiving EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.96 upgraded from 10.1.0.95.
HOW TO UPDATE:
Download via Settings:
- Open Settings
- Click on the System & updates
- Open Software update
- Tap on Check for updates option
- If an update is available, click on Download and install
- After installation Reboot the device
Download via Support app:
- Open the Support app on your device
- Go to the Service tab
- Click on the update button
- Tap on Check for update option
- If an update is available, click on Download and install
- After installation Reboot the device
Note:
- The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
- The update will not erase any data.
