Huawei Nova 13 series might not ditch the Snapdragon chip to go all Kirin. A new leak says the company may use a Qualcomm SoC variant for the upcoming mid-range Nova lineup. However, which model will carry this chipset is a mystery to resolve.

Early inputs suggested that all the Huawei Nova 13 series models will solely pack the Kirin 5G chips. Last year, the company kept its self-developed chip confined to high-end Nova 12 variants. The Nova 12 Lite came out of the box with Snapdragon 778 4G.

Now Weibo tipster @FixedFocus hints that the trend may continue with the next Nova series as well but differently. Alongside a Kirin processor, the Chinese tech giant may introduce a Snapdragon chip variant for the Huawei Nova 13 series smartphones.

The tipster shared a quote saying ‘Broken but energetic’. In response, the summary man of the account said that the Nova 13 series will likely have a dynamic variant with the Snapdragon processor. This could be the Lite Edition, just like the predecessor.

It is unclear how far the new leak will fit with the official details. Huawei is yet to announce the Nova 13 series launch schedule. As per previous inputs, the company might unveil the new lineup next month. Till then, we have to hold our patience.

Previous revelations said that Huawei Nova 13 models will run on the Kirin 9010 chipset. It’s the same processor found in the Pura 70 Ultra. If true, the upcoming mid-range series will deliver a significant performance boost, compared to Nova 12 handsets.

Huawei Nova 12 Lite:

The entry-level device landed on the ground with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 4G chipset. It’s an octa-core SoC architecture with 4 × Cortex-A78 at 2.4 GHz frequency + 4 × Cortex-A55 at 1.8 GHz frequency. It also supports an Adreno 642L GPU chip.

Nova 12 Lite slightly differs from the other variants. It packs a 4500mAh battery with 66W charging instead of 100W. It has a single selfie lens on the front side of 60MP with various shooting modes and enhanced camera features for beautiful shots.

The phone uses a 6.7-inch OLED screen with 2412 x 1084 pixels resolution and is available in three colors: Obsidian Black, Star Blue, and Cherry White. It would be worth seeing how the next rumored ‘Nova 13 Snapdragon variant’ differs from its predecessors.
