News regarding the Huawei Nova 13 series suggests that the Pro and Ultra variants of this lineup could use an XMAGE camera imaging system and a basalt architecture just like the Mate 60 Pro. The overall body structure is said to be tough and reliable.

Weibo blogger @FixedFocus says that the Huawei Nova 13 series will add new glory to the Nova gallery, especially with the Pro and Ultra models. The top-end versions will use the same flagship Kirin chip, used in the Pura 70 smartphone lineup.

An early leak suggested that the tech giant could use Kirin 9010 for the Nova 13 series. But the new input implies that Huawei could keep the latest chipset exclusive to the high-end Nova 13 phones while using the 9000s chip for the standard version.

The tipster further reveals that the Huawei Nova 13 Pro and Ultra phones might use the XMAGE imaging system and the basalt coating (Xuanwu body structure).

Huawei Nova 12 series doesn’t bear any such architecture of XMAGE branding. However with the upcoming lineup, the company might opt for advanced and robust changes for multiple aspects like performance, lens, chips, and body structure.

Xuanwu architecture:

Also known as basalt coating, the Xuanwu architecture is ultra-reliable. It adopts three layers of protection including Kunlun glass for the display panel, ultra-tough basalt body, and ultra-durable polyamide fiber material to guard the device.

XMAGE imaging system

Launched with the Mate 50 series, Huawei continued to upgrade the XMAGE imaging system with its flagship smartphones. The company has imposed second-gen XMAGE branding to P60 Pro, producing more vibrant colors with distinct styles.

Huawei might upgrade the respective camera system capabilities for the high-end Nova 13 handsets. Although the company has yet to confirm this news.

Other reports say that the Nova 13 lineup may continue the dual front camera setup, just like its predecessors. The next add-on could be the 1.5K display with better PWM dimming rates for an immersive visual experience. Read More…
