Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 to use double-layer OLED screen: Leak
Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 will launch on August 6th and a new leak says that the tablet equips a double-layer OLED screen. This is the first time that the Chinese phone maker will debut the respective advanced display solution for its flagship tablet.
As Weibo tipster @FixedFocus noted, the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 uses a double-layer OLED screen. With the new display technology, the top-end tablet will feature a peak brightness of 2000 nits. This will also boost the overall PWM dimming rate.
Double-layer OLED panel is a high-end display solution. It holds two tandem OLED layers overlapping each other to form a single consistent screen for a device.
Unlike a single-layer OLED, the double-layer solution is more durable. It increases the screen brightness as well as the tablet’s lifespan. The tech further reduces the power consumption by 30%. Thus, a tablet with a dual-layer OLED becomes much more power efficient than the one that equips an LTPO display.

BOE is currently selling double-layer OLEDs in China. Honor has already approached the supplier for its new tech and imposed it into the Magic 6 Ultimate Edition and the RSR Porsche Design. It seems Huawei is also using the same technology.

The tipster further reveals that dual-layer OLED for MatePad Pro 12.2 will deliver a 4320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. Hence, the device will provide a more stable light output with improved visual comfort and a significant reduction in eye fatigue.

It is a perfect display solution for those who spend long hours on the screen to read e-books or perform complex data analysis operations on tablets or computers.
Huawei hasn’t confirmed the news yet. Although it will get clear by the next week. Apart from a durable OLED panel, the MatePad Pro 12.2 is also said to bring new AI features, satellite SMS capability, reliable fast charging aspects, and Born to Draw app.
