Huawei MatePad and MediaPad M6 series grabbing new features along with April 2021 security patch

Over the few weeks, Huawei has released new security and feature update for many of its devices from different segments. Now, the company has started to roll out a new software update for MatePad 10.4 and MediaPad M6 series.

According to the information, Huawei MatePad 10.4 update prioritizes the installation of the security patch released in April 2021 for improved system security. On the other hand, MediaPad M6 grabs new quick download icons for popular apps and a new security patch.

After installing the latest EMUI versions, the system security of the Huawei tablets will be improved and protect the device from different exploits and issues as well as enhance the overall user experience.

April 2021 security patch details: This security update fixes 17 high and 69 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

Upgraded EMUI Version:

  • Huawei MatePad 10.4 inch users grabbing EMUI 10.1.1.183 upgraded from EMUI 10.1.1.172.
  • Huawei MediaPad M6 8.4 and Turbo Edition users grabbing EMUI 11.0.0.140 upgraded from EMUI 11.0.0.130

  • App: Add a popular recommendation folder on the desktop, and add a new education center and Link Now application quick download icon for a smart recommendation of popular selected applications.

POINTS TO KNOW:

  1.  This update is currently rolling out in China.
  2. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  3. The update will not erase any data.

HOW TO UPDATE:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
