Huawei MatePad 12 X gets first update with system improvements
Huawei is rolling out the first update for the MatePad 12 X users. The latest firmware has some useful improvements for the device. It optimizes the system’s stability for better performance. The update also has new fixes for hidden issues of the tablet.
Last month, Huawei introduced the MatePad 12 X in the global market. The tablet launched as a rebranded version of the MatePad Air 2024 and bears a PaperMatte display solution to provide a safe and super-effective visual experience to users.
Now the company is bringing the first update for the Huawei MatePad 12 X. The firmware is rolling out with the HarmonyOS 4.2.0.126 version. It also has a package of 750MB. It is better to use a stable Wi-Fi connection for installation.
The changelog is divided into three parts. The first part improves the system and third-party apps. As a result, users will observe more responsiveness and faster task completion on apps. The second part treats the system’s stability aspects.
It optimizes the device’s functioning and ensures fluency in every operation. Finally, the MatePad 12 X users will find the September 2024 security patch that will target anonymous bugs and fix them, offering a more reliable experience.
The update is rolling out in Europe and will soon reach other parts of the world. You can try downloading the update manually via Settings > System & Updates > Software Updates. Make sure to have sufficient storage and battery levels in your tablet.

Huawei could unveil a new tablet soon named “MatePad 11.5 2024”. The device has started surfacing on the leaks platform. It will likely bring major internal changes over its predecessors. Though the appearance and price could be the same.
