Huawei Mate XT features only 1.9mm battery, thinnest ever
Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design tri-fold smartphone is officially unveiled and it comes with the world’s thinnest smartphone battery measuring only 1.9mm.
The phone consists of three modules and can be used as a single-screen, dual-screen, or completed unfold triple-screen experience. Once opened, the phone’s thickness reduces up to 3.6mm (non-camera side).
I’ve compared this thickness to Mate X5, a dual-fold device, which is 5.3mm thick while unfolded.
Huawei’s Mate X5 weighs up to 245g with a 7.85-inch screen size and the new device has 298g weight with a 10-inch foldable display.
These parameters are quite compelling with this large size. However, it may not be possible without trimming the battery thickness and taking it to the next level.
Huawei said Mate XT uses first-of-its-kind technologies including the new large-capacity battery made from the thinnest silicon negative electrode material. It has a single battery cell measuring only 1.9mm thick.
The company has installed these battery packs on each of the three modules and a combined 5600mAh large capacity.
To improve efficiency, the company is providing a 66W wired charger for fast charging. It can also charge with a wireless 50W charger for an improved charging experience.
