Huawei has launched the Mate XT triple foldable smartphone and is getting an overwhelming response that the phone maker might not be expecting in the first place.

Huawei began Mate XT’s reservations on September 7 and registered more than 2 million people in the first two days. By September 9, reservations exceeded the 3 million mark.

Post-launch, the company’s official online store listing has more than 4.5 million reservations for the latest foldable device. And the number keeps on increasing.

This is a massive response from consumers looking forward to the extra premium smartphone. However, supply chain sources from China suggest Huawei initially planned moderate preparations for this new device.

It is reported that Huawei plans to produce 1 million units. This is certainly not sufficient to fulfill these reservations and the company will have to ramp up production to meet the demand.

You can use the phone as a single screen as a regular device, dual screen for efficient content consumption, and triple screen to expand the experience. The phone is made of multi-directional bending flexible materials to increase bending resistance by 25%.

The camera has a star diamond design, a signature move from Ultimate Design Mate series devices. It is made of 78 processes such as stacking, forging, and twisting. As a result, it has combined 80 steel layers.

XMAGE imaging technology is combined with powerful sensors. That includes a 50MP wide-angle camera with 10 10-speed adjustable physical aperture, a 12MP ultra wide-angle camera, a 12MP periscope telephoto camera, and a laser sensor. There’s a front 8MP camera with f/2.2 aperture installed to take selfies.

Once opened, the phone becomes extremely thin at only 3.6mm, which makes it easy to carry and interact. The rear side has luxurious plain leather for a premium look in two colors – Red and Black with a gold frame.
