Huawei Mate Xs June 2021 update expanding for more users [Global]
Launched in 2020, Huawei Mate Xs is the second generation foldable smartphone that comes with an outward folding design. For global users, the Mate Xs runs EMUI 11 and receiving regular security patches. On the other hand, the Chinese models of this device are eligible to upgrade over HarmonyOS 2.0.
Huawei has already released the June 2021 for Mate X2 devices devices. This security patch is now making its way to more Mate Xs device owners in the global markets. According to the changelog, Huawei Mate Xs June 2021 update comes with EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.186 (C432E2R2P1).
This firmware update carrying an update size of around 300MB brings fixes for 49 vulnerabilities including 28 medium and 21 high levels of CVEs. It further strengthens the security system of the device, keeping it safe from external threats.
Users can check for the new software update in the settings on their devices. To do so, open Settings >> System & updates, then click Software update and tap on Check for updates option. If a new update shows up, then click Download and install.

After installing, do not forget to restart the device for a better experience. There are also some points that you need to remember before upgrading your Mate Xs to the new security patch.
Things to remember:
First of all, this software update won’t erase your data, but it is recommended to take backup in advance. Also, maintain enough batter and storage on your device and use a stable connection while updating to avoid buffering. Lastly, the EMUI version and update size may vary.
Alternatively, the users can also check for the new update via the Support app. To do so:
- Open the app.
- Then go to the Service tab and click the Update button.
- Tap on Check for update option, if found any then click Download and install.
- After installing reboot the device.
Huawei Mate Xs:
Huawei Mate Xs sports a single OLED display folded to become small and unfolded like a tablet. It has an 8-inch large display and a secondary screen of 6.38-inch.
It equips Kirin 990 5G octa-core processor with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal memory. The device packs a 4400mAh battery with 55W maximum charging support. It was launched with pre-installed EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10.
In terms of camera, it equips a quad rear camera setup with 40MP wide-angle lens, a 16MP ultra-wide camera, an 8MP telephoto, and a Huawei Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor. The same camera setup can also be used as the front camera for selfies.
