Huawei Mate Xs 2 design leaks in renders, shows new hole punch foldable display
Today, Huawei Mate Xs 2 got confirmation for the upcoming launch event on April 28. While its teaser has a hint of a horizontal folding mechanism. On the flip side, we now have some interesting renders that show us a new display type and some details regarding the upcoming Huawei Mate Xs 2 smartphone.
Let’s jump on to the Huawei Mate Xs 2 renders (coming from Weibo), starting from the front side, the phone has a foldable display with a horizontal folding mechanism. Moving, there’s a major improvement that has been made to the display, which is the new hole punch – on the top right corner of the display.
Compared to the upcoming device, the first-gen Mate Xs had no punch hole camera system instead, the device used the main camera unit as the selfie camera to take images. However, this camera unit could also be in the display camera system but we’ll have to wait to know more on this matter.
Jumping to the rear side, the Mate Xs suggest featuring the same vertical grip strip that comprises the power button, lock, unlock, volume rocker, and the camera module. The renders also suggest that the Mate Xs have three color variants.
In terms of quality and sturdiness, the tipster suggests that the company has improved the overall quality of the main display panel. However, we surely want to see how much the company has really improved the overall quality so it can surpass the last generation Huawei Mate Xs.

4800mAh battery:
Another well know tipster revealed that the phone will pack with a 4800mAh battery that could recharge with 66W super-fast charging. Furthermore, it has WiFi 6 and other optimizations to improve the user experience.
