Huawei Mate X6 could adopt Mate XT-like thin and textured design
Huawei Mate X6 could steal the thin and textured design of the Mate XT. No, it won’t be a tri-fold! Yet it may bring a similar rugged surface on the back panel and the thinner folding mechanism, ensuring a convenient and comfortable grip.
As noted by SmartPikachu, Huawei may adopt a thin and groovy design for the Mate X6, just like its tri-foldable. The company is seemingly making the dual-folding device lightweight to offer a delicate feel to consumers’ hands.
The leak further notes that Huawei could use many of the Mate XT body materials to craft the new Mate X6 foldable. Meanwhile, the company may improve the durability aspects with the new device that are missing in the triple foldable.
For reference, the Huawei Mate XT sports a 12.8mm thin design with three screens. It has a Z form factor with dual-hinge tech that ensures a smooth folding mechanism at all times. The back panel uses a genuine leather material, giving a textured look.
However, the device didn’t survive even the fingernail scratches when it comes to durability. Yet, it gave surprising results in the dust test, beating other folding phones.
Perhaps we can expect that the Huawei Mate X6 will be more durable as well as lightweight than the Mate XT. The rest of the details about the new foldable may be unveiled later this month.
Huawei may use a new Kirin 5G chipset for the Mate X6 folding phone. It could equip a super flat screen. The device will likely continue to use a circular camera bump on the rear side. Although we may find changes in the lens arrangement.
The internal specifications of the Mate X6 are still unknown. But it is said to debut alongside the Mate 70 series. Let’s wait for a few more days to witness the official unveiling of the next-gen dual foldable smartphone.
