Huawei Mate 30 officially confirmed to be powered by Kirin 990

In a media briefing at IFA 2019, Huawei informed that it will release two versions of the Mate X including a new variant with the Kirin 990 processor and the other one with Kirin 980, reported TechRadar.

We also know that the Mate X only has a 5G version, but it’s not confirmed that whether it’ll come with a 4G variant because Kirin 990 also has a 4G version. However, Huawei it is more likely to 5G version of Kirin 990 rather than 4G.

From the software side, it’s possible that the Mate X will be running on the EMUI 10 instead of EMUI 9.1. Moreover, the company has also made some tweaks on the design such changing the material of the fold release button on the back of the device.

“In the beginning, we wanted to sell the Mate X, to be honest, last month [August 2019]. We postponed that. Maybe next month [October 2019].” said Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group.

The statement gave by Yu is similar to what we’ve heard previously about the potential launch of Mate X but we hope that the company will soon announce an official date for its launching.
