Huawei Mate X receiving second EMUI 10.1 beta with 3D AOD and May 2020 Security

New beta software has been pushed for the Huawei Mate X EMUI 10.1 testers. This update brings a new 3D AOD theme, optimizations for WiFi, and May 2020 security update.

EMUI 10.1 beta registration for Huawei Mate X initially started in April and the first build begin to rollout last month for both Huawei Mate X and Mate Xs.

CHANGELOG:

Always On Display (AOD): Adds the new Kingfisher Micro-Stereoscopic clock style to the Always-on Display (AOD) to create a 3D depth of field. Open Settings > Home screen & wallpaper > Always On Display.

Network: Optimize the stability of WLAN connection in some situations and improves Internet connectivity.

Contact: Huawei Consumer Exclusive Service hotline number changed to 950801.

Security: Integrates Android security patches released in May 2020 for improved system security.

The May 2020 security update brings Android patches from Huawei and Google, fixing different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei phones including 2 critical and 22 high and 2 Medium levels of CVEs.

VERSION:

The second EMUI 10.1 beta patch for Huawei Mate X comes with EMUI version 10.1.0.160, while users are required to upgrade on EMUI 10.0.1.137.

Note: This rollout is related to Huawei Mate X Chinese variant.
