Huawei Mate 9 series will get new HarmonyOS 2 features
Huawei Mate 9 series is one of the oldest phones to run the HarmonyOS operating system and the company is now preparing one of these smartphones with new HarmonyOS 2 features.
Huawei recently started early adopter beta recruitment for Huawei Mate 9 lineup to test new HarmonyOS 2 features. Despite the fact that Huawei Mate 9 devices won’t get HarmonyOS 3 upgrade, it’s good to know that Huawei is cooking some new functionalities to improve the current user experience.
As for now, Huawei has not revealed the details of these new features but we can expect them to be optimizations and slight changes over the existing functions.
For your information, Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro will sign up for this recruitment and get a chance to test all of the new HarmonyOS features ahead of the official release. During the beta duration, Huawei will send multiple beta builds under staged expansion.
However, it may take some time for users to get the update via OTA due to limited slots.
Specifically, there are three models:
- Huawei Mate 9 – MHA-AL00
- Huawei Mate 9 – MHA-TL00
- Huawei Mate 9 Pro – LON-AL00
These two phone users are required to first upgrade with HarmonyOS 2.0.0.150 in order to file a signup application. Also, Huawei is giving away rewards for the early beta testers and motivating them to submit helpful feedback.
You should know that Huawei is recruiting only 2000 testers for this HarmonyOS new features campaign. Therefore, Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro will grab 1000 for each version.
HarmonyOS 2:
Huawei Mate 9 devices first installed HarmonyOS 2 with a brand new control panel, notifications panel, smooth animations, fast task execution, better security, and much more. These additions weren’t available in EMUI.
There’s more that these users can do to get the best early adopter user experience. For instance, maintain 8GB or more internal storage. Assure that your device is not rooted and you are advised to make a backup of the important files to prevent unwanted loss.
