Huawei Mate 70 series will not only bring upgraded capabilities but also more Chinese parts than other flagship models. A new leak says that with the upcoming lineup, the tech giant aims to further reduce its dependency on foreign components.

Weibo tipster @BeijingDigital notes that the Mate 70 series will likely use a higher proportion of custom components than the Pura 70 flagship. It means that Huawei will adopt more Chinese parts for the Mate 70 models than previous smartphones.

Being an important line, the company is looking for new and better parts that can make the next Mate lineup a perfect product. Another X tipster says that Huawei will also enhance the external parameters of the device, compared to Pura 70 handsets.

As per the previous reports, the standard Pura 70 consists of the highest number of Chinese components to date. It has around 33 efficient custom parts. Meanwhile, the entire series uses more China-made components than the Mate 60 phones.

With the upcoming flagship device, the company is not only bringing in-depth technologies but also increasing the use of Chinese parts. Huawei may adopt OmniVision camera sensors and display panels from BOE for the Mate 70 variants.

An exception could be the Sony IMX 989 sensor for the Mate 70. The component details are unclear for the moment. Though we might grab more revelations in the time ahead.

During the Pura 70 teardown, TechInsights said that foreign restrictions aren’t affecting the company much. Even though a few parts belong to the U.S. suppliers like DDR5 memory chips from SK Hynix, most components were China-made.

In total, only five non-Chinese suppliers helped Huawei to develop the Pura 70. Note that the device is still under study for its left-out parts inspection. Yet the details are enough to imply that Huawei is becoming self-sufficient. You can read the company’s progress below.
