Huawei Mate 70 series tipped to bring triple-lens setup with new OV50K main camera sensor

News regarding the Huawei Mate 70 series suggests that the ultimate smartphone lineup could feature a triple-lens arrangement with a brand-new OV50K main camera sensor. The company seeks to amplify optical performance with next Mate models.

Tipster @SmartPikachu says that the next Mate series appears to be the same as the P70 handsets in the current scenario. The premium device will bring a triple-lens framework (50MP each) to the table with powerful imaging features and capabilities.

On the flip side, the Huawei Mate 70 series could use a new main camera solution with an OV50K sensor. However, there aren’t any big changes for the ultra-wide angle shooter as well as periscope lens and they are likely similar to the P70 lineup.

OV50K Camera Sensor

Speaking of the new main camera sensor, OV50K is the latest creation of Omnivision. It contains a 1-inch large sensor with the highest dynamic range and helps effectively under dim light conditions, offering bright and vibrant shots.

Meanwhile, the OV50K main camera sensor is capable of adjusting the high-brightness and low-brightness areas automatically based on the environment. Besides, it alters highlights and shadows to enhance the post-coloring of images.

OV50K supports a large f/1.4 aperture to provide enhanced light intake, improving color performance and faster focusing speed over other sensors. It won’t be wrong to term it as a powerhouse in the imaging field.

Some previous input says that the Huawei Mate 70 series is likely to use a combination of a fresh 1-inch large camera sensor with variable aperture and hybrid lens. While it was unclear which sensor would take place, the new leak hints that it could be OV50K.

Apart from the camera segment, the Huawei Mate 70 series also plans an advanced-level display solution that can boost the visual experience for consumers. Whereas, HarmonyOS NEXT would be another useful addition to this strong flagship.

Huawei is readying the Mate 70 handsets as a tough competitor against the Apple iPhone 16 series. So far, the Chinese tech giant has already hit the iPhone sales in the 2023 native market report and it looks like it will continue to put pressure on the American manufacturer with its iconic inventions.
