Huawei has confirmed the Mate 70 series launch time for the fourth quarter this year, but a new leak expects to see the flagship lineup around September 30. The speculation is based on the current development speed of both hardware and software.

As Weibo tipster @FixedFocus noted, the Huawei Mate 70 series could launch around September 30 at the earliest. Though this date might shift ahead depending on the hardware and software preparation for the premium handsets.

The hardware and software here refer to the products like new Kirin 5G chips and HarmonyOS NEXT adaptation. Huawei is gradually pacing in both matters. The OEM has unveiled HarmonyOS NEXT beta and will bring the stable version in Q4 2024.

Regarding Kirin chipsets, rumor says that Huawei has reached the final stage of the 5nm process development and small-scale production seems underway. Although the company has not commented on this statement so far.

Mate 70 series launch date has not been finalized and could still fall through. The same case happened with the Pura 70 series which has been expected to release in March. Huawei later called it a rumor, saying that the firm never announced the release date.

It would be better to take this input with a grain of salt at the moment. Apart from the Mate 70 series, the tipster drags the attention to several foldables in the pipeline.

Leak says that before the Mate 70 series official unveiling, the company will release new folding devices. The list may include the most-awaited tri-fold handset, Mate X6, an inner folding device, and a mid-range small vertical Nova foldable.

The triple-foldable launch time seems to be the third quarter of this year. It will likely use an advanced outward folding technology with a new Kirin 5G chipset.

Mate X6 on the other hand, said to arrive in September this year. It may share the stage with the Mate 70 series. Finally, the Nova foldable could show up in August with innovative upgrades but at a cost-effective price. Thus more offerings are on the way for the second half of this year.
