Huawei Mate 70 series smartphones are now official! The company unveiled powerful devices with tech-pack features and capabilities. And here’s the most crucial piece of information: The Huawei Mate 70 series is using the all-new Kirin 9020 chipset.

As soon as the Mate 70 lineup launched, several tipsters reached the offline stores to check the device and its internal parameters. On exploration, the high-end variants of the Huawei Mate 70 series were found with the Kirin 9020 processor.

On the flip side, the standard Huawei Mate 70 is running on the Kirin 9010. This chip debuted with the Pura 70 Ultra and promises optimized performance efficiency.

Kirin 9020 is the latest invention of Huawei in the semiconductor industry. The chip has a 12-core architecture that refers to advanced hyperthreading technology.

Hyperthreading: It is a hardware innovation that permits more than one thread to operate on each core. More lines can enable more work in parallel. It also allows the chip to process more data in less time and run more tasks in the background without interruption. Thus, promoting powerful and smoother performance.

The CPU configuration of Kirin 9020 is two 2.5GHz large cores, six 1.8GHz medium cores, and four 1.55GHz small cores. The chip is further coupled with Maleoon GPU 920 which has a frequency of 840MHz. It seems quite stronger than previous versions.

Here’s a short comparison of all three chips:

  • Kirin 9000s: 2 x 2.62GHz + 6 x 2.15GHz + 4 x 1.53GHz
  • Kirin 9010: 2 x 2.3GHz + 6 x 2.18GHz + 4 x 1.55GHz
  • Kirin 9020: 2 x 2.5GHz + 6 x 2.15GHz + 4 x 1.6GHz

Compared to the previous two generations, the large core has now changed from 2.3GHz to 2.5GHz and the medium core has changed from 2.18GHz to 2.15GHz. The small core is now 1.6GHz.

The frequency chart hints that the Kirin 9020 is a modified version of the Kirin 9010. Inputs also say that the performance of the new processor will be stronger than the previous processors, especially in terms of gaming.

During the Mate 70 series launch event, Huawei Consumer Business Group Chairman – Yu Chengdong said that Huawei Mate 70 models will offers 40% improved performance over its predecessor. It would be worth seeing how this new chip performs in real-time.

I like to listen to music, sing, dance, and play outdoor games. I have a huge interest in reading novels and cooking. I'm good enough as a speaker. Besides, I have the willingness to learn new things and increase my knowledge in different aspects with full dedication and determination.
