Huawei Mate 70 series could continue circular rear camera design

News regarding the Huawei Mate 70 series suggests that the company may continue the circular rear camera design for the upcoming flagship. While users might expect a change for the next Mate model optical frame, it is unlikely to happen this time.

Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu points out that the Huawei Mate 70 series will continue the circular camera module design, just like its predecessors. Perhaps we could find the same broad ring-style structure with a triple-lens setup at the back of handsets.

Huawei crafted its Mate line with a rounded-shaped rear camera module since the Mate 30 series. Though this pattern changed from ring format to plate style with the Mate 50 series, it shifted back to the same design with the Mate 60 flagship phones.

Thus we can expect to see a similar camera outlook with the Mate 70 series as well. Although Huawei has yet to confirm this news for its forthcoming devices.

Huawei Mate 60: Camera

The optical design of the Mate 60 models is slightly different from what we have seen in the Mate 50 handsets. It has a hollow space in between while a wide uplifted black-colored ring, housing three lenses and an LED Flash at the top side.

At the center of the camera structure, the company has stamped XMAGE branding. Huawei Mate 60 series consists of the tri-lens group including a 50MP main camera (f/1.4-f/4.0), a 12MP ultra-wide lens(f/2.2 aperture), and a 48MP periscope sensor.

Mate 70 camera specs (Expected)

A recent leak says that the Chinese phone maker is likely to opt for a new OmniVision CMOS camera sensor for the Mate 70 devices. If true, the next Mate lineup could have more stronger and efficient photography experience than its predecessors.

Other parameters in the camera rumors include an OV50H sensor for the standard version, upgraded variable technology with a hybrid lens, and an OV50K main camera.

There is still a lot of time to grab an official glance at the Mate 70 series and things might change in the duration. Hence let’s wait for some more input on this subject.
