Huawei Mate 70 alleged cover mold shows giant camera bump

An alleged Huawei Mate 70 cover mold has surfaced online revealing the rear side of the phone. The picture highlights the camera bump, lens arrangement, and a few other aspects of the upcoming model. Although its accuracy is a big question at present.

The image reveals the cover mold wrapped with a silver coating. It has thick round corners with smoother sides. As per previous reports, the company may use the next-gen basalt body architecture for Mate 70 to provide a solid and tougher experience.

It further reflects a thicker-than-before camera bump with four openings. The lens arrangement is quite similar to the Mate 50 smartphone. Although the overall module appears slightly bigger as well as wider compared to the previous-gen models.

Notably, the Mate 60 rear camera bump is thin. It looks like a phonograph surrounded by a clean rim. The lens and the LED flash are arranged in a rhombus pattern.

However, the alleged cover mold shows camera lenses arranged in a square-like style. There are four openings and a thin pill-shaped design in between, suggesting an LED Flash. One of the four openings stands for a periscope zoom, probably on the upper left side.

The accuracy of the image is quite unclear for now. Judging from the overall cover mold appearance, it seems to be the standard Mate 70. Meanwhile, the company will likely keep the official device design a secret till its unveiling.

Speaking of the front side, early inputs revealed that the Huawei Mate 70 series will adopt the 3D face recognition technology. Perhaps the triple front holes design launched with Mate 60 series will continue with the upcoming Mate flagship as well.

A past report suggested that the Huawei Mate 70 series could use a triple-lens setup with an OV50K main camera sensor. It may use an upgraded variable aperture camera with a hybrid lens. Although the standard model could opt for an OV50H sensor.

Huawei Mate 70 models will likely debut in November. By that time, we may find more revelations about the upcoming flagship smartphones.
