Huawei will soon launch the Mate 50 series and the talk for Mate 60 series is here. A well-known tipster has speculated that the Huawei Mate 60 could use a new chipset, could it be the return of Kirin or something else?

Tipster DigitalChatStation suggests that the Huawei Mate 50 series will bring be featured with Qualcomm chipset but the upcoming Mate 60 needs to be guessed. However, the tipster didn’t say anything regarding the return of Kirin on the Huawei Mate 60 lineup.

Other than this, the Huawei Mate 50 series is likely to equip Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. Meanwhile, how much possibility does Huawei currently own to bring back Kirin? Let’s find out.

Huawei is running short on Kirin 9000 inventory and the company cannot print new chipsets due to U.S. sanctions. Still, it could be done with the help of Chinese semiconductor makers including SMIC or some other chip maker.

For the time being, Kirin remains out of the picture as the upcoming P60 series will also use a Qualcomm chipset, as suggested by the tipster as well.

Qualcomm:

We are unaware of what Huawei is planning with Qualcomm but the company is unlikely to leave its hand until Kirin or any stable chip inventory comes into access. Moreover, Huawei will continue to purchase chipsets from Qualcomm in the current scenario to keep on making new smartphones, which is a good decision.

Dual flagship:

Since last year, Huawei had to stop launching two flagships in a year, and it’s expected that the company will resume this tradition in 2023 with the launch of the Huawei P60 and Mate 60 series.

Currently, Huawei has not revealed or confirmed any official news regarding these two devices but we’ll have to wait as the release is far away.
