Huawei Mate 60 series, Mate X5, and Pocket 2 gets AI removal feature update
Huawei Mate 60 series, Mate X5, and Pocket 2 foldable have started getting the new AI removal feature update. The smart image tool was only available to newly launched devices. But now the company has begun expanding it to more flagship models.
The Chinese phone maker has released a new HarmonyOS 4.2 update for the Huawei Mate 60 series, Mate X5, and Pocket 2 with the AI Removal feature. Ensure to hold sufficient storage and battery levels in your device to install the firmware efficiently.
Mate 60 and Mate X5 users can identify the update with the HarmonyOS 4.2.0.135 version. Whereas, Pocket 2 is getting the update with HarmonyOS 4.2.0.158 build. The update is coming in batches and will soon cover all the eligible units.
AI Removal feature, also known as AI Image Retouch or Editing tool helps to eliminate unwanted objects from a picture. It smartly recognizes passers-by, vehicles, and buildings, and removes them without showing major smears or traces on the image.
The feature is already available for the premium Pura 70 models, Nova 12 Ultra Star Edition, and the Nova Flip clamshell product.
With this image tool, users will get dynamic results with a natural look. Just give 10 seconds to the picture and it’s done. To access this feature, device owners have to:
- Open the Gallery app
- Select an image and tap the Edit option
- Click on AI Photo Editing > Erase
- Select the object you want to remove from the image
- Wait for a few seconds and it’s done!
Apart from the new AI tool, these flagship devices are also getting system stability improvements and a new security patch released in August 2024. Thus, users will observe more productivity while performing multiple tasks or using the new AI feature.
The August 2024 security patch, on the other hand, will offer a bug-free as well as reliable experience. Hence, you should install this update as soon as it reaches your device. In case you haven’t received any update alert so far, then follow these steps:
Open the Settings app and go to the System & Updates section. Now tap on Software Updates and click on “CHECK FOR UPDATES”. The device will fetch the latest software versions from the server and will show it up on the screen. To the available build, click on the Download and Install tab.
