Huawei is likely to boost its smartphone business in 2024 and looks like the Mate 60 Pro craze in China will continue to impact Apple iPhone sales. As per the latest report, the American tech maker will see a significant decline in its sales in the Chinese market.

Jefferies analyst Edison Lee has shared some insights regarding the 2024 smartphone market. He said that Apple iPhone sales in China will see a further decline this year, due to the growth of Huawei Mate 60 Pro and other native brands in the region.

Adding more details, Lee cited that the iPhone 15 series sales got a snail start in China which ultimately expanded the YoY decline by 30%. Meanwhile, tech makers like Huawei unexpectedly paced ahead due to the introduction of Mate 60 Pro.

Consequently, the high demand for Huawei Mate 60 Pro among consumers raised Huawei’s sales revenue to the next level. At the same time, it helped the company to gain more shares in the global market.

These factors led Apple to see a major downfall in sales by December 2023 and it seems the company will continue to face these challenges in 2024 as well. Apple is constantly putting its handsets on high discounts and online shopping channels to accelerate its growth to some extent.

U.S. Restrictions:

Apple made a huge way to China after U.S. sanctions on Huawei. The iPhone maker ruled the region with its tech-pack devices. However, Huawei is ready to take on the lead and gain back its shares in the Chinese market with its premium inventions.

Apart from the hardware section, Huawei is also readying HarmonyOS NEXT which is hearsay to become the second largest smartphone operating system in China, giving a tough spot to Apple iOS.

Notably, Edison Lee mentioned that Huawei made 35 million phone unit shipments in 2023. Although obstacles in the supply chain put a barricade on this number from increasing. Yet the company is all set to achieve several new milestones in 2024.
