Huawei Mate 50 Pro concept

In the past, Huawei has done many experiments on the display of its smartphone device, and the company continues to unravel this journey as it moves forward. In the latest development of this story, a new Huawei patent has just surfaced that predicts Huawei Mate 50 with a super curved display.

According to Letsgodigital, Huawei has filed a patent at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in March 2019. After a long inspection, the patent along with its design was published on July 15, 2021.

This patent was described as “Mobile Terminal” and also includes several pages to describe its work in action. The patent also shows the design mechanism of this Huawei phone with a super curved angle that is called “Arc Display” or arch-shaped screen.

Huawei phone with Super Curved Display:

If we look into the detail, first we need to discuss that giant display with super curved edges. The curved edges cover the side frame and reach beyond the back.

But the round display has its own unique feature that could enhance the user experience. For instance, you can use both sides for:

  1. Volume controls
  2. Notification
  3. Media controller
  4. Camera shutter and other camera buttons
  5. Changing slides
  6. Using triggers in games

This Is not a new innovation, as it’s already been seen before in Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 40 series flagship.

However, the side touch has a pressure-sensitive panel that allows you to activate different features based on the pressure you put on the screen.

The patent also describes that this phone comes with AI-powered features as well as a heat dissipation as well as a vibration motor.

Furthermore, to provide direct insight on this matter, a concept creator Technizo Concept has made a 3D render video to show, how this entire patent design works.

No Front camera:

The patent doesn’t describe the rear camera, and there’s no front camera mentioned in the patent either. However, it is expected to feature an under-display selfie camera system. Meanwhile, the rear camera in the video is inspired by the P50 Pro.

For Huawei Mate 50 Pro?

Huawei uses such display tech in Mate series devices, this type of technology surely has the potential to be featured on flagship such as Huawei Mate 50 Pro. However, this mate device is likely to delay until next year due to supply chain issues. Yet, an official confirmation is still awaited.
