Huawei continues to release new HarmonyOS 4.2 beta builds for its top-end models and the Mate 50 series is no exception to this theory, which now gets 4.2.0.120 version. This software offers a variety of features over the previous upgrade.

- Added a new mood fun theme where you can choose from various cute expressions freely as well as combine them to form an enriched theme via several layout methods.
- Added a new mood sticker theme which uses a rich collection of popular emoticons and 1500+ mood emoticons to form an ever-changing interactive theme hence, making the lock screen more fun.

- Integrated the April 2024 security patch to enhance the system security.
Note that the update is currently arriving for the first 2000 users who took part in the HarmonyOS 4.2 beta testing program. However, the tech giant mentioned that other Mate 50 handset owners can pay attention to upcoming announcements for subsequent updates.
