Huawei Mate 50 is bringing the notch, which iPhone 14 about drop
The leak and rumors have suggested strongly that Apple is about to drop the well-known notch with its upcoming iPhone 14 series, while the upcoming Huawei Mate 50 series is about to bring it back.
Obviously, Huawei is not using the notch for the first time, as it already has been used in the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and to mention, and it has been the most popular Huawei Mate device so far.
Initially, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro has been focused on face id or phone security. The module consists of an RGB camera, dot projector, flood illuminator, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, speaker, and IR camera.
The latter came – Huawei Mate 30 Pro also brought in a notch but it focused on the selfie camera and hand gestures.
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro device has completely ousted the notch with pill shape and center hole punch display design and went better for the portrait and gesture controls via the front cameras.
Notch in iPhones:
Yes, iPhones = notch originator, as it was first introduced with the iPhone X lineup and followed in the consequent models – iPhone 11, 12, and 13.
Apple’s concept and technologies behind this notch were to feature face id, it houses – an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, flood illuminator, infrared camera, microphone, front camera, dot projector, and a speaker.
The technology has been pretty successful. In terms of design, and as compared to the previous model, iPhone 13 has shrunk for a better user experience.
Yet, leaks and rumors have suggested strongly that the iPhone 14 Pro models will come with a pill and punch hole display design to contain all of the required face id sensors.
