Huawei Mate 20 X (4G) receiving January EMUI security update
Earlier this year, Huawei begins expanding the EMUI 10 to Huawei Mate 20 devices in different markets including models Huawei Mate 20, 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS, Mate 20 X, and 20 X 5G.
These phones were provided the EMUI 10 OTA with December 2019 security patch. After a months-long interval of updates, Huawei Mate 20 and 20 Pro recently started receiving the January security patch.
Adding to these devices, Huawei Mate 20 X is also receiving a new EMUI update with January 2020 security patch.
The January 2020 security update, which improves system security with Google security patches and fixes to 2 critical and 16 high levels of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE).
However, there are no additional improvements mentioned in the changelog.
EMUI VERSIONS:
The January 2020 security update for Huawei Mate 20 X 4G comes with EMUI version 10.0.0.188 and 145MB software package size.

HOW TO CHECK FOR UPDATE
Via Settings:
- Open Settings
- Click on ‘System & updates’
- Click on ‘Software update’
- Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
- Click on ‘Download and install’
Via HiCare:
- Open HiCare app
- Click on ‘Services’ tab
- Click on ‘Update’
- Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
- Click on ‘Download and install’
