NFC is a wireless data transfer method that allows smartphones, laptops, tablets, and other devices to share data at close range. NFC technology supports contactless payments through mobile wallets. Recently a Huawei Mate 20 Pro user reported that they are facing some bug after upgrading to HarmonyOS.

As per the user, the NFC card swiping function fails for some card readers and users suspect that it could be due to the recent HarmonyOS update. They also mention the following issue they exactly facing:

  • The mobile phone can automatically recognize the card reader device and automatically pop up the card swiping interface, but the card reader does not respond.
  • At this moment, open the phone settings go-to NFC then defaults payment application, select Huawei, then other application, now another wallet, and then select back to Huawei wallet – Swipe the card again, the card reader can recognize it normally, But it will again be invalid if the card is switched in process. You need to swipe the card as default, and then follow the above steps again to have it recognized.

The owner is really upset with the issue occurring in the Mate 20 Pro smartphone after the latest update. Notably, some other users replied with some suggestions that must check the NFC menu setting is correct or not to do so steps are mentioned below.

  • Open settings
  • Click on more
  • And then NFC
  • Then the security chip need to select the built-in security chip
  • Then open the default payment application
  • Select Huawei Wallet
  • For EMUI 8.0 and later version
  • Go to settings
  • Then Device connection
  • Open NFC, the default payment application selects Huawei wallet

Aside of these certain issues, other smartphone consumers haven’t been facing such issues in the current scenarios.
