Huawei Mate 10 and P20 grabs August 2021 security update (HarmonyOS)
Huawei P20 Pro is the first triple camera smartphone in the world and Mate 10 series is one of the most versatile devices that step foot among consumers. Both of these phones have their own specifications chart that fits perfectly among users’ hands.
That’s why these phones and their submodels are still kicking in performance and receiving new software updates. Specifically talking, the Huawei P20 series and Mate 10 series devices are currently testing HarmonyOS 2.0 beta in China.
The latest software update for the Huawei P20 and Mate 10 series brings a new user interface and lots of new features that improve their user experience compared to EMUI.
Still, the HarmonyOS 2.0 beta testing for these two old flagships remained under the ‘closed beta’ phase. Therefore, the company keeps sending new test builds to seed as many features and fix system bugs.
In the latest story, the P20 and Mate 10 devices with HarmonyOS getting a new software update that brings the August 2021 security patch. This is one of the major improvements under the beta testing phase.
The August 2021 security update is now initiated for the Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 Porsche Design, P20, P20 Pro, and Mate RS Porsche Design.
These phones are eligible to upgrade over the latest HarmonyOS 2.0 closed beta version .188 upgrading from .165. The software is rolling out gradually.
Last month, Huawei started the rollout of HarmonyOS 2.0 closed beta for the above-mentioned models and their public beta is scheduled to come somewhere in mid-September.
Global Users:
3 weeks ago, Huawei began to push a new EMUI software update for the Huawei P10 and Mate 10 global users. More interesting, these phones received new applications, as well as new security patches released in May 2021.
However, Huawei has not spilled a word on the global availability of the HarmonyOS 2.0 or for these smartphones. The company may also rollout EMUI 12 as the next goal for the global market.
