Huawei is a world leader in network equipment solutions and the company is the leading global 5G network equipment supply, according to a report published by market tracker Dell’Ore.

It’s revealed that Huawei was the top MCN vendor in 2022 along with Ericsson, Nokia, and ZTE. The data also says that Huawei was the top 5G global mobile core network supplier in 2022 followed by Ericson, ZTE, and Nokia.

Dell’Ore revealed that MCN and Multi-access Edge Computing (MWC) are expected to accelerate in 2023. Also, the global 5G standalone (5G SA) enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) network launch achieved 39 by the end of last year.

The market tracker noted that the global market excluding China has returned a year-over-year growth in the fourth quarter of 2022. It was the first time when the company saw growth since the third quarter of 2021.

The report mentions that there are now 39 5G mobile network operators in the world including the recent addition of India’s Jio, China Telecom, and Globe Telecom. There are more MNOs expected to launch 5G services by the end of 2023.

During the 2022 Global Mobile Broadband Forum, Huawei Rotating chairman Ken Hu said that over 230 carriers around the world have launched commercial 5G services. Overall, the industry has set up over three million 5G base stations, serving more than 700 million subscribers.

In comparison to 4G, the user experience of 5G has been greatly improved. This has doubled the Internet traffic (DOU) and increased ARPU by 20% to 40%, driving the steady growth of operators’ connection revenue.

“5G has grown faster than any previous generation of mobile technology,” began Hu. “In just three years, we’ve seen solid progress in network deployment, consumer services, and industrial applications.”

However, Huawei is also working on 5.5G as the next major upgrade for the 5G network and complying with industry partners to deliver this new 5G standard.
