Huawei leads as the most patents holder in Europe in 2019

Huawei has emerged as the top and most patent holder in Europe in 2019, reveals the patent statics published by the European Patent Office (EPO).

In 2019, the EPO received over 181,000 applications, 4% more than in 2018. Huawei topped the table of patent applicants with 3,524 applications. Huawei followed by Samsung with 2,858 and LG with 2,817 applications.

As of the end of 2018, Huawei has been granted 87,805 patents, of which 11,152 are U.S. patents. Since 2015, Huawei has received over 1.4 billion U.S. dollars in licensing revenue.
