Huawei launches a new ‘Scan to Go’ feature with HarmonyOS NEXT

Huawei has introduced a new ‘Scan to Go’ feature with the HarmonyOS NEXT. The useful addition enhances the existing code-scanning feature for applications. It eases the overall process and minimizes the step to scan a QR code for many tasks.

An ordinary code scan feature requires a set of steps to complete the task. Users need to scan the QR code. Hereafter the feature identifies the app to which the QR code belongs > finds the app > then opens it and again searches for scan code entry.

It often becomes a time-consuming process. However, Huawei changed this tradition with the HarmonyOS NEXT. Scan to Go allows users to enter the code interface of any app directly without going through multiple taps or a lengthy procedure.

In case you don’t have the required app on your Huawei device, the feature will automatically lead you to the App download page on the AppGallery for easy access.

The Scan to Go feature in HarmonyOS NEXT supports all types of QR codes. It is present in the camera app of Huawei devices. Although users can add this feature to the control center or the lock screen of the handset, at their convenience.

The feature supports a ‘one-click scan’ whether your phone is locked or unlocked. One can use this feature for payment, order food, book a ride, rent and electricity bills, express deliveries, and more.

Scan to Go also contains automatic zoom. It can scan an 18 x 18cm code from 18 meters under appropriate lighting conditions. For low light, it can reach 92% accuracy using the low-light algorithms with a scanning delay of 550ms.

It’s just the beginning and there could be even more hidden features that Huawei will showcase to consumers with the first beta rollout in the coming months.
