Huawei will likely make the first-ever Kirin PC chip more effective with advanced AI capabilities. That says a new leak surfing on the internet. If not much like Intel, the upcoming notebook-dedicated processor will offer a few smart services to users.

Weibo tipster @FixedFocus notes that the Huawei Kirin PC could use an Intel Lunar Lake-like chip architecture, opening new AI capabilities for notebooks and PCs.

Intel Lunar Lake is an upgrade of the Meteor Lake chip platform. It’s based on the UMA (unified memory architecture) design and improves performance and efficiency via an advanced packaging design. It’s similar to the Apple M-series processors.

The same tipster earlier reported that Huawei may follow the steps of Apple, Intel, and Qualcomm to make its first computer-dedicated chipset more stable and reliable. Now FixedFocus says that the chip will also unlock new AI capabilities.

Over the past few months, Huawei has seeded AI functions to many of its devices including phones and tablets. These features are also present in laptops powered by the Intel Core Ultra chip.

However, the company is now trying to build an independent PC chip that can lead to high-level performance, less power consumption, and more smart features.

The recently launched MateBook devices have AI subtitles, AI Eyes, AI minutes, smart Notes features, and more. With the Kirin PC chip, Huawei may introduce some more smart AI functionalities alongside enhancing the existing ones.

In that sense, the Kirin PC chip will likely adopt a powerful design just like the Intel Lunar Lake for an efficient notebook experience. Apart from AI capabilities, the chipset will focus on the heat control of the device for a more durable functioning.

Kirin PC chip is expected to match Apple M3 performance. As per some early inputs, the company may introduce its self-developed PC processor later this year with the Qingyun commercial notebooks. Thereafter, it may release with MateBook in 2025.
