Huawei kicks off EMUI 13 beta
Huawei started testing EMUI 13 beta for its top smartphone lineup in the global market. This news is quite surprising for all of us, as there is enough time that we’ve already spent waiting for this next EMUI version.
Yes, the EMUI 13 beta program is in the early stage and began with the Asia region. However, it may soon open to more global users. So, it may take some to reach your Huawei device in Europe or another region.
But it’s time that we dive into the beta program information.
Similar to the past beta activity, Huawei is ought to make this one closed with only a few users. According to the information, Huawei is recruiting 800 testers for P50 Pro, 100 for P50 Pocket, 100 for P50 Pocket Premium Edition, and 150 for Mate Xs 2. Note that these testing slots may vary in different countries.
The beta program is initially open until March 29, 2023. After an evaluation of eligible applicants, Huawei will roll out the first EMUI 13 beta build via the OTA update method.
How to join?
If you want to participate in the EMUI 13 beta test, download and install the Beta app (Link). Open the app and follow the on-screen instruction, find the Beta project, and sign up.

This includes a brand new application icon swipe-up feature. This allows you to swipe up on any of the apps and open its quick access options. Making its debut first for EMUI users, Huawei is sending service widgets with EMUI 13.
The service widgets is a completely new world for Huawei smartphones and directly link its relationship with HarmonyOS.
EMUI 13 also helps you to keep the phone’s home screen clean with smart folders and service widgets stacking. Smart folders let you resize the large app folder into three layouts. On the other hand, the new service widgets stacking and grouping works accordingly.
That’s not it, Super Device is also making is coming with EMUI 13. Therefore, global users can now take benefit from its multi-connection capability.
