Huawei-JAC could launch first MAEXTRO brand smart car in Q1 2025
Huawei and JAC Motors are reportedly working on a new brand named ‘MAEXTRO’ and will launch its first car model in Q1 2025. The smart car is in the development stage and could enter the mass production lane by the first quarter of next year.
On August 6th, Huawei announced the new MAEXTRO (Chinese name – Zunjie) smart car brand jointly developed by JAC Motors. It’s the fourth car brand to enter the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance ecosystem with dynamic characteristics.
The Chinese phone maker has already co-developed three brands: AITO, STELATO, and Luxeed. Now the fourth one termed MAEXTRO is ready and will soon land in the Chinese automobile market with powerful tech and driving solutions.
Yu Chengdong – the Chairman of Huawei Smart Automotive Solution Business said that the first car from JAC MAEXTRO brand is expected to launch in Q1 2025. It has entered the ‘EV verification’ stage and may begin trial production by late 2024.
JAC accelerates recruitment:
Now a company insider says that JAC Motors is speeding up the work on the MAEXTRO brand. The automobile firm is also planning to develop 38 test vehicles.
The carmaker has also started recruiting new technicians like quality a system specialist, quality review specialist, product line quality specialist, and vehicle quality specialist to organize its new brand well. For eligibility, these posts require 8+ years of experience related to high-end electric vehicle projects.
JAC has around 100 skilled workers in its quality development field. But it looks to increase this figure for speedy development of its vehicle.
Huawei didn’t reveal much about its new jointly developed car brand in yesterday’s event. Although it said that the new brand will be positioned as a million-level ultra-high-end vehicle in the market. Thus, it might cost more than 300000 yuan.
