Huawei appealed for a patent regarding face-unlocking technology. In the latest edition, the company will make such amendments to the face unlock methods that they can remain effective even in times of danger.

The Chinese tech maker is constantly pushing up the level of innovation with its emerging patents. As of now, the company has added a new application entitled “display unlocking method, electronic equipment, and storage medium”, in its patent gallery.

According to the input revealings, Huawei will soon begin its tick-tacks over a new face-unlocking method. Eventually, this mechanism will prevent the user to unlock the device when under pressure or threat.

Yes, you read it right! Now you will have the option to set the security level of the face unlocking feature. As a result, the higher the security, the more difficult face unlocking method will take place on the device.

Huawei Face Unlocking Patent: How it works?

The latest information hints at some basic concepts. Ultimately, the method will comprise a light intensity sensor, a micro-expression sensor, and most important – a pupil parameter element.

To begin with, the display screen will capture the facial movements of the user through the camera and micro-expression sensor under a locked screen condition. Further, it will record the pupil parameters using the light intensity sensor under the bright screen state.

Thereafter, the device will store the respective facial expressions in its memory. Besides, it will also retain the pre-stored light intensity, and biometric information. Next, it will ask the user to select a face-unlocking security level.

Works at times of threat and duress

Here the term “danger” suggests force, duress, threats, and pressure against the user’s will. In case you are stuck in such a situation, you can switch the dynamic unlocking immediately.

While using the respective lock method, if the pupil parameters are greater than the originally stored content, then the device will restrict the unlocking action. Moreover, it will show a preset unlocking interface.

This display will show password verification, fingerprint verification, iris verification, voice unlocking, and sound wave unlocking. Thus, an intruder will not be able to unlock your phone even using your biometric information.
