Huawei is the second most tablet seller in August after Apple, while new MatePad Pro 13.2 impressing customers
Market research data from China’s Runto revealed that Huawei continues to sell more tablets in the Chinese market and in August, the company ranked second in the sales chart overall tablet sales in China.
Runto notes that the current top four tablet sellers include Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Honor accounting for about 67% of the overall sales in August.
The research also mentioned that Huawei recently unveiled the world’s first flexible OLED tablet – MatePad Pro 13.2 large screen tablet attracting customers. The screen offers 2880 × 1920 pixels resolution and 262ppi for high picture quality.
Flexible OLEDs are thinner and lighter in weight. These are built on very thin plastic or metal foil. It can be much thinner and lighter than backlit LCDs and other displays in the market today. So smartphones, portable computers, wall-mounted televisions, and other products with displays, can also be lighter and smaller.
RUNTO analyst Liu Qian believes that Huawei is ahead of Apple in its flexible OLED product plan. In addition to strengthening its brand influence in the Chinese market, Huawei is also expected to drive the further development of OLED technology in the smart tablet market.
LCD product sales accounted for more than 90% in August. OLED products accounted for only 1.7% of sales in August, a decrease of 4.6 percent from the same month last year. The main reasons why OLED has been tepid for a long time are the higher average product price, fewer brands, and insufficient marketing efforts in the past.
