Huawei is testing HarmonyOS NEXT App with Kirin chip phones

HarmonyOS NEXT App development is gradually progressing and a new leak on this matter suggests that Huawei has started testing HarmonyOS NEXT app on some Kirin smartphones such as the Mate 40 Pro and Mate 60 Pro.

Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation recently said that Huawei is testing the HarmonyOS NEXT app on a few Kirin models including the Mate 40 Pro and the newly launched Mate 60 Pro handset, running on the OpenHarmonyOS 4.

Adding more insights, the tipster reported that the adaptation process is quite good for the moment and shows efficient results. Moreover, a variety of mainstream platforms in China have initiated the HarmonyOS NEXT app development for a smarter and safer experience.

Responding to the post, some users said that the ultimate HarmonyOS native app development will lead to secure features and capabilities for old Huawei smartphones.

Huawei Kirin phones

Both Mate 40 Pro and Mate 60 Pro devices are equipped with Kirin 5G chips. Perhaps, the company has picked these two models to recognize the overall efficiency of HarmonyOS native apps on both old and new handsets.

This could make further enhancements to the native app development. On the other hand, this initiation hints that Huawei is planning to increase Kirin production and introduce more smartphones based on the respective processors.

The CEO of Huawei Consumer Business – Yu Chengdong recently mentioned that the company will launch HarmonyOS NEXT products in 2024. Thus, the tech giant has started pacing in the development part.

At the same time, Huawei is signing cooperation agreements with new firms and sectors to expand the proficient HarmonyOS Ecosystem. Consequently, the upcoming HarmonyOS versions will bring a major upgrade to the mobile applications ecosystem with better features.
