Huawei is expected to introduce Mate 70 series this month challenging all other flagship phones in the market. And ahead of the official unveiling, a few brands are already seeing the new Mate lineup as the strongest rival in the consumer market.

Zhao Ming – the CEO of Honor Devices recently said that Huawei Mate 70 is the strongest competitor of all flagship phones in the market. Ironically, the executive made the statement right after the company’s Magic 7 series launch event.

“Huawei Mate 70 is the strongest competitor of all brands, there is no doubt about that.” – said Honor CEO.

Even though the Magic 7 series is full of AI features, enhanced network, and other advanced capabilities, Honor CEO hints that Mate 70 is a step ahead of it.

Huawei is struggling to regain its value in Chinese and global markets. Yet a few leaks and rumors imply how the company could still challenge its rivals with Mate 70.

1. HarmonyOS NEXT

The tech giant has unveiled a self-developed and “free of Android” OS this year – HarmonyOS NEXT. It equips self-developed components instead of AOSP elements or traditional Linux. New software parts are 3-4 times efficient than that of Android.

On the flip side, HarmonyOS NEXT can surpass iOS and Android in terms of fluency, simpler UI, security, AI, and many other aspects. This OS will first come pre-install in the Mate 70 series, making it more capable of the best user experience.

2. 5nm Kirin Chip

A few rumors claimed that Huawei will introduce its first 5nm Kirin chip with the Mate 70 series. The company hasn’t confirmed the talks yet.

But a few reports like SMIC has laid the production lines for 5nm chips, the 5nm process is developed and could be used for Mate 70, 5nm chips small-scale production has begun, and more hints that the rumor might turn into reality.

Some other leaks added that the new Kirin chip for the Mate 70 would bring top-level performance. Hence, the device may deliver a significant performance boost while playing games, watching videos, and performing any other heavy operation.

3. Upgraded Satellite Features

Huawei is the king of satellite communication technology. The company is leading the sector at a whole new level. While others are still trying to get satellite SMS and calls, the tech giant offers the ‘satellite image-sending’ service to its users.

Consumers are now expecting another surprising satellite feature with the Mate 70 series and Huawei can make it possible. The company introduced satellite calling with Mate 60 Pro and a satellite image-sending feature with the Pura 70 series.

Thus, we may witness a new satellite functionality with the Mate 70 flagship.

4. AI at its peak

Huawei has also mastered the art of implementing new AI photo editing tools to its devices. The latest example of this case is the Nova 13 series which has a new “AI Best Expression” feature to correct the expression of users at any time.

With the Mate 70 series, Huawei may introduce smarter AI tools not only for image editing but also to enhance the security and overall device experience.

5. Camera and other parameters

Photography experience and unlocking solutions will likely be improved with the Mate 70 series. The company is currently testing an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for the new models. It could be side-mounted for standard and Pro whereas, optical for high-end variants.

These points hint that the company is ready to challenge the latest flagship phones with the Huawei Mate 70 series.
