Huawei is searching for new talents that can help it overcome its shortcomings and flaws, says a senior executive of the company. The aim is to contribute highly to technological breakthroughs with the help of new talented employees.

Ren Zhengfei – the founder and CEO of Huawei recently visited Sichuan University. During the discussions and his keynote, the executive stated that Huawei seeks new talents to overcome challenges and technological shortcomings in the company.

He adds that these new talents will also play a vital role in dealing with critical issues and problems, faced by the industry. Thus together, both newly talented employees and the company will achieve great milestones in the future.

It is not the first time that Huawei is hunting for new talents. After being banned by the U.S. authorities, Huawei initiated the “Genius Youth” programme several times to recruit better, smarter, and more talented employees for the firm.

“Huawei will save talent, not US dollars”, Ren said last year in his speech and emphasized the importance of talented people in the industry. Most of these are being picked from top research honors winners with impactful and tangible results.

Ren Zhengfei strongly believes that China needs ‘pure’ research that is not driven by applied science. The term pure reflects the focus on advancing theory rather than waiting for results regarding a particular goal or product.

Huawei continued the quest for new talents since 2020 and visited the top and oldest public universities in this journey for talents with high values.

Some other universities in this list count:

  1. Shanghai’s prestigious Fudan University
  2. Shanghai Jiao Tong University
  3. Beijing Tsinghua University
  4. Peking University
  5. Chinese Academy of Sciences

Another reason is the lack of advanced chip equipment that can help the company in making better processors. Yet Huawei is making efforts to overcome these challenges in the time ahead. Read More…

Despite several obstacles, Huawei’s AI chips are better than its rivals like Nvidia with 20% more efficiency. A few tests proved that Nvidia needs more effort to chase its customers in the Chinese market. Yet to win the semiconductor race, Huawei needs to build advanced chips.
