Huawei introduces ‘Four New’ strategy to help operators in digitalization
On November 1, Huawei attended the 10th Ultra-Broadband Forum and introduced the “Four New” strategy to open new doors of digitalization for operators. These principles will help enterprises to achieve commercial success in the AI world.
Chen Hao – the President of Huawei Carrier Business described how the “Four New” strategy will lead to digitalization. He said that the Four New strategy refers to new entries, new services, new experiences, as well as new operations.
The executive says that optical broadband users exceeded 300 million worldwide with an average home broadband speed of 570Mbps – thanks to the development of UBB (Ultra-Broadband) and the AI industry. He further elaborated on “Four New”.
New Entrance: The first one indicates the creation of AI models that can build a smart home economy rapidly. It can connect people, things, and applications to understand the requirements of each family member and respond accordingly.
New Business: Operators can connect and together build a home AI app ecosystem. This can happen by empowering new businesses via AI and high-quality content. AI can help in making news games, health care, and education-based apps and services.
New Experience: Operators can grasp monetization using new business models such as billing by latency or AI functions. High-quality service experience often demands a high-quality network. Operators can develop a “one vertical and one horizontal” high-quality network to support high-quality service experience.
It can help in achieving a 1-millisecond east-west connection between data centers and a 1-millisecond north-south connection. As a result, operators will be able to manage user calculations easily.
New Operations: Network operation has become more challenging than before. Meanwhile, smart driving requirements are growing. Hence, AI can help to support high-level autonomous driving and improve network operation to maintain efficiency.
