Huawei Intelligent Driving is confident to beat its rivals: Chairman
On May 31, Huawei hosted a launch event unveiling some amazing smart cars with its partners. During the conference, Huawei Consumer Business Group Chairman Yu Chengdong said that the company’s intelligent driving unit is confident to beat its rivals.
The executive said this, in response to Tesla FSD’s (Full Self-Driving) plan to enter China. Elon Musk is looking to roll out this software treatment on the Chinese ground for Tesla users, providing a better, more efficient, and easier driving experience.
U.S. EV maker already has two autopilot driver assistance systems in the Chinese market, but these are less efficient. However, the firm now aims to bring the FSD software solution by completing registration with MIIT and initiating the testing.
Managing Director at Shanghai Consultancy Automotive Foresight – Yale Zhang said that Tesla’s FSD release in China would pressure other EV startups to accelerate their research and development. But Huawei has something else to say about this.
Yu Chengdong quotes that the Huawei Intelligent Driving unit is confident and capable of defeating its rivals, even after Tesla FSD software makes its way to China.
The chairman mentions that the company has tested its solution in many countries including the U.S. And the overall results are good enough to compete with other contestants in the automobile market. Speaking of the Tesla FSD, Yu cited last year:
“Tesla FSD does a great job. The solution does not rely on high-precision maps. But still, our solution is better and safer!”
It is a bold statement in favor of Huawei’s Intelligent Driving Business. No doubt, the tech maker might have amazing plans and schemes like the Qiankun solutions that will give a tough fight to others in the market.
