Huawei increased mobile sell target for 2023: Report
Huawei has increased its mobile sell target for 2023, reveals an industry supply chain report. This move reflects that the company is gaining confidence with market demand. Also, it is ready to ship more devices to consumers.
According to Chinese supply chain sources, Huawei has raised its mobile shipment target to 40 million this year. The previous aim was 37 million (about 8.11% up). This is a major change made by the tech maker.
Interestingly, the report mentions that Huawei is the only company that has ramp up the shipment target. While other firms are cutting down. The slow shipment in other smartphone companies is a result of slow market demand.
Market Decline:
Canalys wrote that the global smartphone shipments fell by 13 percent to 269.8 million units in Q1 2023. Phone makers such as Samsung and Xiaomi received a major decline in the first quarter.
According to Counterpoint Research, China’s smartphone market declined by 5% year over year in the first quarter of 2023. Most of the phone makers declined shipment except Huawei and Apple.
Huawei:
Coming back to Huawei, the company is moving against the trends. Therefore, it is adding new direction for 2023. The report also mentions that other phone makers doesn’t want to follow Huawei in terms of increasing shipment targets, at least for now.
Huawei is also betting big on the foldable phone market. The company launched the Mate X3 phone in March of this year, this device has the latest technologies and innovative design and it is popular among consumers. This year, Huawei will ship a maximum of 3 million foldable phones, which accounts for about 7.5% of the annual smartphone target.

Over the past three months, Huawei unveiled various new devices including the flagship – Huawei P60 Pro. Others are Huawei Nova 11 series and more. These devices equip new features and software.
These new launches will help Huawei to deliver a new mobile sell target in 2023 according to the expectations.
