Huawei HiSilicon shipment significantly increases in Q4 2023 global chipset market: Canalys
Canalys research organization has published the Q4 2023 smartphone chipset market report where Huawei HiSilicon has shown significant improvements in shipment growth. The Chinese tech giant is steadily processing in the chip field.
According to the information, the Huawei HiSilicon development has taken a new shape in the Q4 2023 smartphone chipset market. The recovery of Huawei’s smartphone business led to an increase in the shipment of HiSilicon processors.
Eventually, the report shows that the shipment rate of HiSilicon chips in Q4 2023 reached 6.8 million units, which is an increase of 121% year on year.
A major credit behind this achievement goes to the staggering sales and huge demand for the Mate 60 series in the market. Even though HiSilicon chips have been out of stock for some time, it did not affect its growth much.
Thus, after years of halt, Huawei HiSilicon received a kick start with the flagship Mate 60 lineup in the Chinese smartphone market last year. Meanwhile, Huawei is working on new products that are likely to use advanced Kirin chipsets.
Currently, the P70 and Mate 70 series hearsay to adopt the Kirin 5G processors. Both these premium lineups are expected to raise the overall shipment growth to a good level this year. This could further enrich the HiSilicon SoCs development.
Apart from HiSilicon, MediaTek is leading the world’s smartphone SoC ranking with a shipment rate of 117 million units in Q4 2023. The series also counts Qualcomm and Unisoc with a slight decline in annual growth.
