Huawei has published patents in various fields of businesses including telecom, consumer, enterprise, and other important categories. These patent helps Huawei to retain its top spot in China as a leader of innovative technologies and to develop top-notch hardware devices for the consumers and business partners.

According to the data generated by Fairview Research’s IFI Claims Patent Services  (via – Bloomberg), Huawei continues to improve its rank in the list of companies with the most patents in the U.S. Patent Office despite the ban from the U.S. government. The data shows that the company has immersively increased the number of innovation patents.

Last year, Huawei received 2770 U.S. patents and achieved 5th spot in the overall top patent holder receiver in that particular year. The Chinese company landed just behind International Business Machines Corp.

Talking on this matter, Huawei has raised its position sharply from 9th position to 5th position. The report mentions, the reason behind this decline lies in other companies as the U.S. patent and trademark office issued 7 percent fewer patent than last year.

On the other hand, the top spots are filled by Samsung, Canon, and Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC.

Apart from these, Samsung retains a large share and is the biggest holder of patented inventions globally. However, six Chinese companies, including Huawei and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, hold more patents on inventions than IBM, which ranks No. 8 on that list.

Huawei Ban:

In May 2019, Huawei has been banned from accessing products made with U.S. technologies including supplies of essential components such as chipsets for smartphones. Thereafter, Huawei has been barred from printing new chipsets from chipmakers from the likes of TSMC and Samsung.

However, that’s not stopped Huawei from innovating and the Chinese tech maker is still working on getting more and more mature in terms of making new technologies that could help from overcoming from current challenges.

Most of Deng Li's smartphones are from the Huawei ecosystem and his first Huawei phone was Ascend Mate 2 (4G). As a tech enthusiast, he keeps exploring new technologies and inspects them closely. Apart from the technology world, he takes care of his garden.
