HarmonyOS PC is once again in launch rumors and this time, a leak implies that the computer-dedicated software could release in the first half of 2025. Till then, the native HarmonyOS ecosystem will be developed and available to more users.

The Chinese tech giant has been preparing its PC-based software since last year. Huawei has suggested several times that it will soon ditch Windows support for its notebooks and adopt a self-developed operating system for better performance.

Yu Chengdong – the Chairman of Huawei Consumer Business recently said that the next-gen notebooks will come with HarmonyOS PC instead of Windows. But certain rumors said that the software requires more time in development.

A previous leak said that HarmonyOS PC may be delayed till Q3 2025. It’s a lot of time and seems uncertain. However, a tipster now says that Huawei may launch HarmonyOS PC in the first half of 2025 with a new MateBook model.

The leak further said that the native HarmonyOS ecosystem will be fully developed by H1 2025. Hence, it seems a perfect time for the HarmonyOS PC launch.

Previous Revelations

HarmonyOS PC user interface has already appeared on the HarmonyOS developer website. The new computer OS seems quite similar to MacOS in design. Although it is said to be more efficient and faster than other rivals in the market.

Some other leaks claimed that the HarmonyOS PC will unlock notable gaming upgrades and powerful performance. It will open a new AI era for laptop users making the complex tasks and operations easier on MateBook notebooks.

Other changes to the HarmonyOS PC are still unknown. But it will likely be the best version, just like HarmonyOS NEXT. It would be worth seeing if the tech giant launches the new software system in H1 2025 or takes more time in its optimizations.
